rainy day (in)activities

Today's weather has nothing to do with the above picture. On Friday the weather was perfect. This morning's sky is a thick, low, gray blanket.

Last night - from 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. we received 3.3" of rain. More is expected.

As I recover from a nasty head cold, throbbing headache and laryngitis, it seems like today will be a good day to knit on the brightly colored scarf on my needles, stitch on a little bit of embroidery in the hoop and review my Bible study.

And take a nap. Must nap. Sniff, sniff, cough, cough, wheeeeze.

Have a good Wednesday everyone! Thinking of all my friends and family in the upper Midwest who endured some pretty severe weather yesterday.

Y'all okay?

So sorry to hear you are feeling so uncomfortable with your head and throat. I'm glad you plan to get some extra rest. I will add my prayers for your healing, and your comfort meanwhile. I'll e-mail you some thoughts on your throat/vocal situation.
Be well,
kjh (the IN Karen)

We lost phone service at work for about an hour at work, making things a bit more peaceful than usual. With cell phones and smart phones, we weren't completely out of touch.

Richard said the power went our briefly at school, and it looks like there was a brief power outage at home as well.

The wind was causing more trouble than the rain.

No school at Northland Pines due to trees across roads. 6,000 out of power in Eagle River, but not us inner-cityites, we are warm and cozy. Snow flurries, high winds. Brought in firewood. Should I ship chicken soup overnight? Linda

We are okay--really, really windy, though! Lots of big trees down. Our friends lost a pine in their yard that had a diameter the height of my friend who posed next to its roots. Fortunately, it missed their house (and them) . . .

Thanks so much, Karen!

Don't blow away, Lori!

One of the many advantages of living in the 'inner city' Linda. LOL!

Hope your hatches are all battened down, Suzi.
